Simon Pegg Calls Ricky Gervais "An Idiot"

For the record, my money's on Simon Pegg if this fight ever breaks out at the BAFTAs or something. Pegg, talking about his new film How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, which will be released on Friday, was asked in a radio interview if, like fellow Briton Ricky Gervais, he ever felt pressure to live a more Los Angelean lifestyle. And that's when the shit hit the fan. "He (Gervais) says a lot of things, that man. He said there had been no good British films since 1950. What an idiot. If you go to Los Angeles, you can get sucked into that." Commenting on the pressures of "fitting in" in Hollywood, Pegg said, "I've seen people go there and suddenly become rake-thin because there is a slight pressure on you to be thin. I've seen a lot of fat people there." When the interviewer commented that Gervais must not be feeling the pressure to get thin, Pegg added, "He's one of the fat people in Los Angeles, yes." I'm so happy the British speak their mind, aren't you?
