Trailer - Madonna's Directorial Debut, 'Filth and Wisdom'
Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 6:42AM
Oprah has a magazine, Jessica Simpson sells a line of
shoes, and Sarah Jessica Parker has a perfume. It seems that you gotta diversify
to stay on top of the game these days. That's something
Madonna
has known for decades.
Few recording artists have ever achieved so much in the
music industry while being constantly backhanded for one thing or another. But
she was the first female pop star to have total autonomy over her career, music,
and image, and she's managed to have six number one albums, 11 number one
singles, and seven Grammy awards by consistently changing her sound and persona.
But her achievements aren't just in music, lest we
forget. And in a way, it's somewhat surprising that we've had to wait 25 years
to see her first film as a director, but here comes
Filth and Wisdom.
I'll dispense with trying to describe Filth and
Wisdom; as you might expect, Madge only does things that are different than
what she's done in the past. As you can probably discern from the poster, this
is an ensemble piece, with a bunch of unusual characters coming together,
possibly to worship the disembodied mouth from
the old Twizzler commercials.

And now here's the trailer, courtesy of
Trailer Addict. Buckle in for this one.
Filth and Wisdom will be released in selected
cities on October 17th.
