New Trailer for 'Revolutionary Road' with Kate and Leo

So far, I think I like the idea of Revolutionary Road more than I like the reality. Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, a Sam Mendes flick, Roger Deakins working the camera...that's restaurant quality.

But the first trailer was just above average, not great. It was what it needed to be for a movie like this. The second trailer, while it does develop the story a little more, is not very inspiring. Of course, I felt more or less the same way about the trailers for Body of Lies, a DiCaprio film that really impressed me. But based on the trailers, I had low expectations. I'm not saying there's a direct correlation between bad trailers and bad box office, but that movie's not doing so well out of the gate.

This film, however, will get the Oscar treatment. It's coming out at the right time for these weighty, emotional dramas, and audiences are conditioned to go in for more serious films at the end of the year. Maybe the trailers do just enough by informing everyone that it's Kate and Leo. But from where I'm sitting, they don't do much else.

Revolutionary Road will be in theaters beginning December 26th.

Leo just has to make a few movies a year and stop worrying about how good they are. Come on Leo, you aren't Brando! You should find a hero to play in a series.

Depp did it.

Downey did it.

Damon did it.

DiCaprio? Still too cool for school???
