One More Beautiful Poster for Baz Luhrmann's 'Australia'

I still have really high hopes for Australia, ridiculously high hopes. Part of that is because we've waited nearly a decade for Baz Luhrmann to follow up Moulin Rouge! There were a few years there when Baz was pursuing an Alexander the Great flick, just like Oliver Stone. As it turns out, one of those movies was about three more than we needed.

So it isn't as if Luhrmann has been making this movie non-stop since 2002. But he's been at it long enough for me to be damn good and ready to see it. I think the subject matter and scope is a logical next step for Baz as a filmmaker, and I fully understand that you either get him or you don't.

This appears to be not only artistically challenging but more mainstream than his previous films, which could get him an even larger fan base. Nicole Kidman could use a career life raft right about now, and Hugh Jackman isn't a sure thing without an adamantium skeleton, so this film could pull triple duty.

Here's the brand new poster for Australia, and not surprisingly, it's pretty handsome.

Australia comes out on November 26th, and I can't wait.
