Mark Wahlberg Takes Wait-And-See Approach...To Everything
Monday, October 13, 2008 at 4:42AM
Mark Wahlberg sat down with the press recently to talk about
Max Payne, and
Coming Soon
took the opportunity to address all the rumored films he has in the works, from
Cocaine
Cowboys to
Darren Aronofsky's
The Fighter to sequels for
The Departed and
The Italian Job. With each film on the agenda,
Wahlberg revealed less and less but added some variation of "so we'll see."

Of The Fighter, Wahlberg said he's frustrated by
training for two years for a role in a film that might not happen. "I
keep on training and I don't know. We'll wait and see. Hopefully we'll get a
start date one of these days and we can make the movie. "

Apparently, "a bunch of things" are holding the production up, but Wahlberg will meet with Aronofsky this week about the project. "(S)o we'll see," he adds.
Switching gears to Cocaine Cowboys, which is based on a documentary about the derring-do of drug runners in Miami at the dawn of the cocaine boom in the United States, Wahlberg said of the casting, "Well there's a bunch of great, great roles so we'll have to see. I have some people in mind, but nobody set in stone." He did say Peter Berg will direct it, and that seems like it would be a good hire.
The Departed 2 would be trickier. "I don't know [about its status]. They're still trying to make Italian Job 2, so who knows. If it's worth doing and it's better than the first then it's worth entertaining. People loved the first one." That's all well and good, but there aren't too many pieces left from the first movie to bring back, right? I mean, that wasn't paintball.
But since Wahlberg mentioned The Italian Job 2, I wonder what's happening on that front. Is there a script?
"No, they've tried many scripts on the Italian Job..."
But we'll see?
"But we'll see," implores the cautious Wahlberg. "I'm never holding my breath."
Obviously.

Departed 2?...Booo!
Somebody in hollywood needs to get ahold of Billy Haran from Massachusetts, I heard some of his scripts he is working on and if they get into the hands of some Execs or producers they will indeed open Hollywood up and get them into some of his storylines. Once he takes the next step to further his screenwriting career it should hopefully get Hollywoods screenwriters back on track to scripting real Movies. Like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull Etc....So Billy Haran you need to take the next step to bridge the gap between you and the big screen here is his email.
