Trailer - Jean-Claude Van Damme is Jean-Claude Van Damme in 'JCVD'

Several months ago, we had a good laugh at Jean-Claude Van Damme announcing that he wanted to be taken seriously. Since then, we've learned that he wanted his insistence that he be taken seriously to be taken seriously.

The result of his earnestness is JCVD, in which the former action hero plays himself - or at least an movie star named Jean-Claude Van Damme - who returns home to Belgium...and apparently robs a bank.

The film has received some rave reviews, but as the blurb from Variety in this trailer instructs, I'll believe it when I see it.

JCVD opens in limited release on November 7th.

The first JCVD movie I've wanted to see since....well ever. Definitely looks like fun, I love they show him recieving news of losing a part to Segal.

Based on the trailer I think I am going to have to see this. Even if I have to wait until it comes out on DVD...

Looks really, surprisingly good. I hope this is the "Rocky Balboa" of Jean Claude Van Damme movies! I'll let you guys decide if that's a good thing or not (for the record, I think it's good).

I'd like to see this kick a lot of ass.

Vince, I'm with you. Loved Balboa, and I think Van Damme is on the right track here. His best movies were the low budget ones of his early career, like BloodSport.

Come to think of it. a BloodSport sequel might not be such a bad thing...

Either way, bring on JCVD!!!
