Monday, October 13, 2008 at 9:02PM Harrison Ford Not Passing the Damn Fedora to Shia LeBeouf
I know how it must've looked at the end of
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
- that is, if you made it all the way to the end.
Harrison Ford says that
Shia LaBeouf would not "replace" him in the
three-decade-old adventure series.
Ford tells
Moviefone, "No, that's never been (the idea).
As George
[Lucas] has famously said, we'd have to call it Mutt Jones: The
Search for Elvis. I think it just doesn't work that way," he says, referring
to a torch-passing moment in the summer blockbuster.
"And there's definitely a distinction between passing the fedora and someone
picking it up."

When asked about a fifth Indiana Jones movie, Ford maintained his mostly-open stance. "It would have to do with the quality of the script that I read, if and when we decide to go forward," Ford says.
But he is less optimistic about a rumored Blade Runner 2. "I don't know who it would be a good idea for [laughs] ... I wouldn't go that far [to say I'm not interested], but I have not been at all engaged in that process."
Oddly, Ford and I have our positions reversed on this. I'd much rather see a Blade Runner 2 than another Indiana Jones flick.

Regarding a second Blade Runner film, we can only hope that they keep well away from the K. W. Jeter books.
They're rancid.
Now he worries about a quality script? Why did he agree to Crystal Skull? Or did he think it was that a quality script? If it was then we don't need another Indy flick.
im a huge fan of Harrison and id love to see him in more movies...but i dont think that another Indy or a Blade Runner would b a great idea..
I'm not demanding a Blade Runner sequel, I just think there are more options with that story, especially with the technological advancements we've seen in filmmaking over the past 25 years. Even if it's not Harrison Ford, I think there are places you can go with that universe. Indiana Jones is a dry well.
Another Blade Runner film would be fantastic - if Ridley Scott directs it.
Ridley hasn't lost his vision or his soul to the god/devil of merchandising, unlike other one could mention.
A more mature and, as ever, perfectionist Ridley certainly has a lot to offer.
Merely the question "is Deckard a replicant?" has enough stuff for a full movie.
But Indiana Jones should be left alone unless they (you know who) stop being compulsive about selling out to make more money that they really need.
