'Twilight' Updates: Soundtrack, Running Time, and New Pictures
Monday, October 13, 2008 at 6:53PM
With
Twilight a month away, we've got a few updates
for what might be millions of expectant fans, which is different from pregnant
fans. At least I hope so.
First, we have an official run time for Twilight: Two hours on the
nose. Summit Entertainment says it's exactly 120 minutes long, and who are we to
argue? That does seem a tad short, given the length of the novel, so let's hope
it's good editing and not just a lot of editing.

Next is the official track list for the Twilight soundtrack, which we found at the official site of author Stephenie Meyer. Notice track ten, if you will.
Robert Pattinson plays the dreamy Edward in the teen vampire flick, and this is the first song he's ever released. We also learn from StephenieMeyer.com that all the songs will be featured in the movie, as well, and won't only appear on the album.
- Muse — Supermassive Black Hole
- Paramore — Decode
- The Black Ghosts — Full Moon
- Linkin Park — Leave Out All The Rest
- MuteMath — Spotlight (Twilight Mix)
- Perry Farrell — Go All The Way (Into The Twilight)
- Collective Soul — Tremble For My Beloved
- Paramore — I Caught Myself
- Blue Foundation — Eyes On Fire
- Rob Pattinson — Never Think
- Iron & Wine — Flightless Bird, American Mouth
- Carter Burwell — Bella's Lullaby
The soundtrack is due out on November 4th.
Finally, we have a handful of new images from the film for you, too.

Thanks so much for this info! Although I had already seen the soundtrack list when it first came out, as well as the pics, I am ECSTATIC to learn the running time will be 2 hours (it's completely absurd that such a little thing can make me SO happy)-- b/c you see, although I personally wouldn't mind if the movie were as long as the third Lord of the Rings movie (random side note: that's one of my all-time favorite movies), I kept hearing the movie being referenced as a "90-minute" movie, and that always seemed WAY too short-- not only b/c it didn't seem like they could fit the book into that short of a movie, but also just b/c I wanted more time than that w/my favorite characters--therefore I am SO glad it's going to be longer than that-- only 30 minutes longer, maybe, but hey, every little bit helps, and I'm glad for ANY extra time this movie lasts. 2 hours is still WAY better than 90 minutes, in my opinion. Thanks again for the info!
I second everything that VanessaC said!!!!
I just had to say, Brandi: I'm glad you agree :) .
Thanks for the images, some are great and give me more hope for the movie than the poster! (I don't like it at all.) The novel is long but has lots of descriptive passages, as I recall, so it makes sense to me that the movie could be on the short side and still capture all the main action - and romance, of course.
Yeah, the posters are a bit amateurish, frankly. The book cover is more interesting.
The first poster, with Rob Pattinson looking more like Bella's protector, was more a propos, as was its fairy-tale tagline:
" When you can live forever, what do you live for?" The new poster makes them look less like a couple and Rob Pattinson looks more creepy than sexy. What's the new tagline on the poster? It starts now? Nothing will ever be the same? Or is one of those in the trailer? Whatever. Ick. The previous poster with the two facing each other was better, IMHO.
