Friday, October 17, 2008 at 9:22PM Daniel Craig Cautious About Future as 007
I wouldn't make too much of this, but
Daniel Craig
dropped a hint in Playboy (via
Digital Spy)
that his future as James Bond may not go as long as we'd otherwise think.
Discussing playing the iconic role, Craig said that where he goes from here
depends on
Quantum of Solace.
"I did sign on for four so a piece of paper says there are two more to do,"
Craig confirmed. "But let's see how this one goes. In the film business,
everything doesn't always go according to plan. We'll wait and see. If it goes
wrong, we'll have to rethink things."

The only reason I even bring this up is the last part of that quote - "If it goes wrong..." I thought we were all in agreement about two things as it relates to this movie:
1) It's going to make about half a billion dollars worldwide
2) It also looks very, very good
So why would it go wrong? Maybe that's just Craig's modest, working class background coming through and he doesn't want to build it up too much. On the other hand, maybe he knows something we don't. I'm going to go with that first one for now; we'll know more after Solace opens on Halloween in the UK, two weeks before its American debut.
