Monday, October 20, 2008 at 2:11PM Seth Rogen Calls 'Ghostbusters 3' "The Worst Idea Ever"
Were it not for
Bill Murray's
blessing for it, I probably would be totally against Ghostbusters 3. I
mean, I was totally against it until Murray warmed to the idea, which has
something to do, I think, with the all-hands-on-deck approach of the threequel:
Harold Ramis
is supposedly directing,
Dan Aykroyd has been pushing like hell to get
it made for centuries, and they hired two of the writers for The Office
to handle the script, rather than letting Aykroyd go anywhere near it.

Of course, it's not out of some allegiance to Murray
that I think there might be a little life in the project, just that I
legitimately think it might be slowly developing the right way, as completely
unnecessary part threes go.

Seth Rogen, who has been a rumored new Ghostbuster, is completely not in favor, or so he tells Collider.
"It’s hard to imagine that would be good, isn’t it? I mean just as a movie fan I am the first guy to be skeptical of that. It sounds like a terrible idea when you first hear it. At first hearing it sounds like the worst idea ever. I dunno. Maybe. I mean, that would have to be one motherfucking good script."Asked if he'd be more inclined to listen to an offer because of Ramis, who played his father in Knocked Up, Rogen replied, "It all depends on how bad the script was. (Laughs.) There is a point where it’s so bad it’s really easy to say no. I have enough insulation around me now that I don’t have to say anything."
This is a bit of a relief to me, just because I don't really want Seth Rogen in Ghostbusters 3. Nothing personal, but I'd rather see them go another direction.
