Political Spoof: McCain's New Campaign Ads

This, ladies and gentleman, is how careers are launched. It used to be that if you directed commercials (Michael Bay), music videos (David Fincher et al) or television (Michael Mann), that you'd eventually get called up to the majors.

We can't be too far off from a rash of viral videographers signing movie deals, if web personalities like LonelyGirl can get a contract, right? All it takes is the right creativity at the right time.

I'll admit that the production values in this spoof aren't that high, by the effect is tremendous. John McCain, struggling to make up ground in the campaign for President, hires some of Hollywood's big directors to make some last minute political ads. So here are three of his new commercials, "directed by" John Woo, Kevin Smith, and Wes Anderson.

Special thanks to Cinematical for the head's up

I love that these three short films are better than either of these director's last two efforts.

Well...

Life Aquatic wasn't half bad.

I think McCain could run the Clerks one right now and gain points in the poles.

How do you do a John Woo parody and not have a shot of the flying doves?

Weak.
