New Season Five Trailer for 'Lost'

I like the way Lost came back last season. You remember, with the writers' strike, a bunch of shows had two mini-seasons last year. I thought Lost actually came out a winner in all of this, because they premiered new episodes while almost every other show was still in repeats and they just blitzed through the entire season from January to the end of May.

They're using that kind of approach, which I believe NYPD Blue pioneered about a decade ago, and the series won't return until January. That's seven months without a new episode, but the good news is we should again get a very high concentration of brand new shows. There might be a couple weeks where it's a repeat, but that's about all they can afford.

We're up to season five, and I'd explain a bit about where we are in the sequence of things, except this new ABC trailer for the show does that for me.

So it'll be January, but we don't know exactly which Thursday yet. Incidentally, just because, Benjamin Linus is the best character on television.
