Friday, October 24, 2008 at 4:04AM New Trailer, Poster for 'My Bloody Valentine 3-D'
I've got to tell you - and maybe this is because I'm
seeing
Saw V today and I always like to hold out hope
for a good horror flick - I think the producers of
My Bloody Valentine are going about this is
absolutely the right way.

For starters, they've not just chosen to do a remake of a bad horror flick. I mean, yes, they have chosen to remake a bad horror flick, but they're bringing it to you in what they hope will be glorious 3-D. Nice little wrinkle. They're adding a great camp quality to this experience, and to prove they know it, check out the new poster:

Great tagline, right? There's also a brand new trailer, which I can only imagine I'll be seeing later today when I pay to check out Saw V. It doesn't look like anything special, but remember, you're seeing it without all that gruesome slaughter coming right at you. In this trailer, you'll see a really simplistic dramatization of what that experience might be like in the theater.

Of course, none of this makes My Bloody Valentine a good movie. Frankly, that's an awfully steep hill to climb, based on the original. But it should be an improvement on the first movie, and as far as these recycled horror flicks go, that's about all you can ask for.
