Friday, October 24, 2008 at 4:34PM Trailer - Clint Eastwood's 'Gran Torino'
Clint Eastwood goes back in front of the camera
for the first time since Million Dollar Baby in this December's
Gran Torino. It's his second film of the
season, following Changeling. In Torino, Clint plays a Korean War veteran
who finds himself in the middle of gang violence, protecting Hmong neighbors he
doesn't even particularly care for at first.
The new trailer is out today, and while it doesn't look
as though Gran Torino has the power of a Mystic River, Million Dollar
Baby, or Letters from Iwo Jima, we do get an honest to goodness "you
kids get off of my lawn moment," in uniquely Eastwood fashion.

Look for Gran Torino in theaters beginning December 17th.

Although the plot still comes off as sitcom-y to me, and it certainly doesn't look like the award-winning stuff Clint is used to, I really really want to see "Gran Torino". Looks like Geriatric Death Wish to me, although Mr. Eastwood now sounds like a bad parody version of himself at times ( [Growling Incessently] "Why the hell do these Chineses have to move to this neighborhood anyways?")
Nonsense. I think this is will be an honest, simple story about a man who decides to do something about gang violence. It almost seems fresh in a way.
So far all I can find regarding release info is that it will be "limited". Gran Torino apparently opens this Firday in N.Y. & L.A. and then goes into "limited" release 12/25.
Colin: Any idea where - or if - this will screen in Az.
