Friday, October 24, 2008 at 6:05AM Week in Review: 'Watchmen,' Bond, Sam Raimi, and The Joker Gets Graphic
The closer we get to the end of the year, having now
emerged from one of the two slow seasons in Hollywood, the news will come at us
faster and faster. To that end, we have a bunch of headlines from the past few
days, a courtesy to those of you who swing by on Friday to check out the new
reviews and then give us the cold shoulder the rest of the week. Well, the joke's on you, because we haven't even seen the two big releases this week, because neither Disney nor Lionsgate wanted us to check out High School Musical 3 or Saw V.
So now what are you gonna do? Well, you're already here, so I suggest trying on a couple of these stories for size:
DC Comics launches Joker graphic novel
Seriously? Paris Hilton in Sherlock Holmes? Zac Efron a Pirate?
Quantum of Solace released some new clips, and some critics have released their fury.
Watchmen footage. Uh-huh.
You know how Max Payne sucked? The video game company thinks so, too.
Mamma Mia! is the most profitable movie in all the land!
Watchmen poster. Uh-huh.
Screw Sam Raimi, chapter two.
Fan-made Flash teaser is exactly that, but it's a pretty good one.
What if John McCain hired hot Hollywood directors (and John Woo) to shoot his campaign ads?
Those are the headlines. We'll have a review of Saw V this afternoon and a review of High School Musical tomorrow morning or so.
