Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 3:39AM Trailer - 'The International' Goes International
Outside of writer
Eric Singer
being brand new to the business, I can't see much not to look forward to about
The International, the slick-looking new
thriller starring
Clive Owen and
Naomi Watts.
To begin with, it stars Clive Owen and Naomi Watts. And
it's directed by
Tom Tykwer, the man who made a thrilling movie
out of a girl with shocking red hair running though the streets of Berlin three
times in succession. But since Run Lola Run, I can understand you being
down on Tykwer's output. There have been parts of all of his movies since that
have been great, but he hasn't found a way to close the deal since 1998.

Maybe this seemingly efficient and linear popcorn flick is just what his career needs. I wonder if it will suffer a Wall Street hangover, though: The International is about an Interpol agent and a New York district attorney trying to bring down one of the world's largest banks.
Here's the new international trailer for...uh...The International.

It reminds me a bit of The Interpreter on a very surface level. That one wasn't bad. But you'd hope for better here. The International will be in theaters on February 13, 2009.
