Have you ever seen one of these Asylum movies? The
company specializes in bad rip-offs of major motion pictures and releases videos
with very similar names on DVD either ten days or three days before the actual
movie arrives in theaters.
In the past few years, these street corner Rolexes have
included Transmorphers, Snakes on a Train, The Da Vinci Treasure, Pirates of
Treasure Island, Allan Quartermain and the Temple of Skulls, the brand new
Sunday School Musical, and oddly, The 9/11 Commission Report.

The company's latest epic is The Day the Earth Stopped, and I probably don't need to tell you what upcoming release it's modeled after. Ordinarily, we don't focus on Asylum films - and why would we? - but they must smell gold here, because they've cast Judd Nelson (!) and C. Thomas Howell (!), who also directs this surefire masterpiece (!!)
At what point during the production do you think these former 80s stars looked at each other and asked, "You didn't have a back-up plan, either? No real estate investments or anything?"
Watch the trailer. Laugh. Make a joke about The Day C. Thomas Howell's Career Stopped. Go about your daily routine.
The Day the Earth Stopped will be on DVD December 9th.

We want to see it. I don't get why you critics get so nasty. These people are probably in the business because they enjoy making movies, who cares what you think.
I am in this movie as a soldier/sniper. It was lots of fun to do, and C. Thomas Howell really seemed to be enjoying the process.
The reason people hate the Asylum movies is because they suck...Dunno if I spelled Asylum right. Anyway, I'm sure you had fun but the movies still suck.
I've skipped through the beginning of Transmorphers, and I thought 'These guys could just do anime-like movies' 'cause the animation of the robot did look cartoony but in a good way. I'd like to see them try to do something similar to an anime movie. If it sucks, then they should stop making movies all together.
This is one of favorite movies, I feel so identify with the title because when I take my Generic Viagra I feel earth stop around me and not only the earth but also other parts of my body.m10m
