Harrison Ford Discusses Another 'Indiana Jones' Movie
Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 5:53AM
Harrison Ford is sounding downright optimistic
about a fifth Indiana Jones adventure, which is weird because he doesn't sound
like he was too sure of the fourth one,
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

"It was never a lead-pipe cinch," Ford told
The Los Angeles Times. "It was a calculated business risk
but I believe it paid off. I was somewhat surprised and gratified to see it did
the business that it did. It was successful in almost every market."
Even right up to the film's debut, Ford apparently had
some jitters. "The first
time we showed it to a disinterested outside audience was at Cannes. That's a
crap shoot of the first order," said Ford.
"Not only is that audience sophisticated and film-knowledgable,
it's French! And it's their country and their festival and we somewhat expected
to be seriously slapped around. But we were not, we were embraced...it was very
gratifying."
Fast-forward to October, and the movie has made about
three-quarters-of-a-billion dollars worldwide, with the DVD set to arrive in
stores a week from Tuesday. And Ford is not hiding from the fact that he's open
to another trip under the fedora.
"It's crazy but great," he admitted. "George
[Lucas] is in think mode right now." Ford
added, "It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that
having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some
people want to do it again."
Lucas has, over the past few months, talked about what sorts of adventures are
left for Indy. Let's just hope he doesn't muck it up again. Of course, with his
track record over the past quarter-century, that's hardly a sure thing.

It's so sad that George Lucas is all about money. Whenever he speaks, he sounds like an accountant.
Apparently, Harrison Ford has caught the same bug,
I don't get it. They don't need the money, and all they're doing is diminishing the legacy.
It was bad enough that lucas ruined star wars, even the original trilogy has lost most of its appeal. Any remaining appeal relies on my dusting off vcr to so i can play the thx remastered pre special edition. I hate Lucas, and Spielburg too for that matter. Rest assure, if I am sitting in a theater and I hear that fan fare, I will be giddy. Disappointment, after painful disappointment has yet to ruin the hope of excitement. John Williams so closely protects the rights to his work, to the point that the only recordings you hear on tv or in a movie is his, and yet for some reason he keeps going back to destroy his own legacy. We must stop John Williams, because he is the only thing that gives these films any hope of living up to expectations, and for that destroying our memories.
In keeping up with Lucas's current mastery of storytelling I give you this idea
Indiana Jones and the Curse of the Haunted Mansion
Indy, Scooby and the gang's van breakdown in front of this mansion
Yes. Awesome. They greased the gears on Skull and now they are up and running. Indy 5 would be awesome. Harrison as Indy is timeless.
It's not about the green for them anymore, it's about the lime. Limelight, Limelight, Limelight is what it's all about for these senior citizens now, oh to be part of the "it" crowd again! They don't care about the product on the screen, they only care about their mugs in the mags & papers. Crystal skull was a horribly boring movie with a ridiculous plot and terrible ending.
If they do make a 5th I can only pray they bar Lucas from it.
