Trailer - The Haunted 'House'

Now wait just a goddamn second...is that two-time Academy Award winner Faye Dunaway in this trailer for a new B-level horror movie? No, thankfully, it's not.

It's Leslie Easterbrook, now best known as a member of the Rob Zombie repertory, but I tells ya, the resemblance is uncanny. When I watched the trailer for House, my first thought was, "Where the hell is Hugh Laurie?"

But then I got focused. "What the hell is Dunaway doing here," I asked my computer. When I learned it wasn't her, my reaction was, "Why the hell didn't they go after Faye Dunaway?"

There might be some legitimate jumps and scares in House, which drags its cup along the bottom of an empty well for inspiration. It's from authors Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti, so hope springs...uh...intermittent, I guess, because the longer this trailer goes, the sillier the movie starts to look. But if you go in for the cheap thrills, it might work for you.

House opens in limited release on November 7th, just in time for Veteran's Day.

I'm really excited about this film! Other people might say that Christian horror is an oxymoron but definitely not Dekker and Peretti. I've been waiting for such a long time for this film, after its several change in schedule of showing. I've read that it'll be in more than 450 theaters on November 7, oh boy, I'm glad that I'm near one! Btw, check out the House' official website at http://housethemovie.net for the full list of cities where the House will be shown. I think there's a list in Ted Dekker's website too.
