Zhang Ziyi will go for laughs in a new
Chinese-language romantic comedy called Sophie's Revenge.
Variety
reports that she will also co-produce the $2 - $3 million film with South
Korea's CJ Entertainment. Said Mike Suh of CJ, "Romantic comedy with big stars like Zhang Ziyi, is not an established genre in China and we look forward to a successful collaboration." Zhang, who broke through in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and has also been superb in The Road Home, Hero, and House of Flying Daggers, will next be seen in The Horsemen, an American horror flick that will be distributed by Universal, presumably next year.
