Final Theatrical Poster for 'Twilight'
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 8:39AM
I saw this poster in the theater last night, and was
surprised that I hadn't seen it first online. Then I got home and - wouldn't you
know it? -
Cinematical had posted the final one-sheet for
Twilight.

I know what you're thinking, no matter which side of the
fence you're on concerning this movie. You're either thinking, "This looks just
like the first Twilight poster. And all the other ones." You could also
be thinking, "I'm so excited to see this movie! It's the only thing keeping me
from cutting myself every afternoon."
You're both right, as it turns out. Yes, this poster is
not a bold new look for Twilight, and it's a movie that teens are really
looking forward to. There's still the matter of how much it could make, and what
that would mean to Summit Entertainment, the studio releasing the film on
November 21st.
Because Summit is fairly new to the distribution game, I
have a hunch they're going to put all their eggs in this basket. They want to
turn this into a franchise, so it has to do pretty well in a competitive month
to make that happen. It won't be 4,000 theaters like a huge summer blockbuster,
but I'd be really surprised if they only did 1,500 - 2,000 houses. Clearly, they
know they could have an event movie on their hands.
And just imagine if audiences reacts to the movie the
way they have the novels.
