On-Set Video from 'Kick-Ass' with Nic Cage
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 10:05PM
Nicolas Cage will co-star in a new graphic
novel adaptation of
Mark Millar's
Kick-Ass. Around the time this photo was taken,
Cage downplayed the level of violence that would be in the movie. After all,
Millar wrote
Wanted, which some people thought was
exceedingly violent (a charge I don't understand), and Cage says he's against
too much gore and bloodshed, anyway, so he never would've signed on if that was
the case.
And now we have our first on-set videos for Kick-Ass
for your amusement. It's hard to tell, of course, because these aren't edited
videos and indeed, aren't actually footage from the movie, but does it appear
that director
Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake) is on the
right track?

I haven't read the graphic novel, so I'm not a good
judge, but the synopsis for Kick-Ass is definitely cinematic. I think
Vaughn has proven himself, despite the disappointing box office for Stardust.
Hopefully, we'll see some more substantive video in the months ahead and we can
get a better gauge on what's happening on the set.

just to let you know, kick-ass is a comic thats only on its 4th issue right now
It's a wonderful comic so far. The book is VERY bloody... and FULL of violence... so, how much gore and bloodshed is too much for Nicolas Cage?
