Excellent G.I. Joe Stop-Motion Short Film
Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 10:05AM
I was recently sent this
magnificent short film inspired by John
Carpenter's
The Thing. This stop-motion animated
horror/sci-fi movie was directed by Frenchmen
Simon Gesrel and Xavier Ehretsmann,
and it's the kind of thing that gets you your first feature film.

There have been stop-motion flicks featuring G.I. Joe action figures before,
but this one has such a high degree of production design. The duo has done this
kind of thing before, so it should be no surprise how incredibly polished it is.
The music is by the duo
Zombie Zombie, appropriately enough, and I think you'll
be struck by the lighting (pay attention to the shadows) as well as the little
details. This is great work.
Let's hope next year's
G.I. Joe movie is half this good.

Absolutely Beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful! There were moments when I had to remind myself I was watching stop animation.
