James Bond Lands the Cover of 'Entertainment Weekly'

Can Quantum of Solace sustain the incredible box office production of its Bond predecessor, Casino Royale? I have a hard time thinking this will be anything but an enormous hit, something in the $55 - $65 million opening weekend range and then upwards of $150 total box office.

The reaction to new Bond Daniel Craig was a lot more favorable than anyone would have guessed; I assume the websites devoted to having him removed were taken down rather quickly after he delivered the best portrayal of that character we've ever seen, but then, he had more real acting to do than in any previous 007 flick. Is he the best Bond? Can't really tell from one movie, but he's better than anyone since Connery, that's for sure. He's not the classic Bond we're used to, but a closer reflection of the Ian Fleming stories combined with the post-Jason Bourne action hero we lean to as moviegoers.

And of course, the full-scale media blitz is on for Quantum of Solace, but why wouldn't it be? It's the only legitimate action blockbuster until March following up perhaps the most successful franchise reinvention in movie history. You're going to see a lot of 007 - and Daniel Craig - between now and November 14th.

To wit: The new Entertainment Weekly cover we snagged from Just Jared. My only complaint is I wish it were larger. That's what she said.
