Monday, November 10, 2008 at 6:31AM
Pretty big movie weekend, especially if your name is
Madagascar. That flick made $63 million in the
U.S. and to date the series has generated about $631 million in theaters.
Incidentally, the Gross Domestic Product of Madagascar is $17 billion, which
took a hit during the mid-1980s when New Coke was introduced because Coca-Cola
didn't need to import as much vanilla. True story, but you won't find that in
the talking animals cartoon. But beyond Madagascar, there were several other headlines of note. We covered a few:
Will Smith and Spielberg to remake graphic South Korean flick Oldboy
The Twilight cast is everywhere
Beyoncé wants to be Wonder Woman
New Terminator Salvation footage featuring Christian Bale
I'm wearing an armband mourning the fact that Chris Rock is remaking Death at a Funeral
Sarah Jessica Parker taps the brakes on Sex and the Sequel
Bond girl Olga Kurylenko on German edition of Maxim
And here are some stories we didn't cover:
Antonio Banderas playing Salvador Dali (JoBlo)
I'm avoiding an obvious joke about Steve Carell loving Beaver (The Hollywood Reporter)
Turkish town named Batman suing Christopher Nolan for copyright infringement (io9)
Sam Mendes not exactly directing comic book adaptation Preacher just yet (Cinematical)
Josh Brolin hemming, hawing over Jonah Hex (Coming Soon)
