International Trailer for 'The Day the Earth Stood Still'

I wasn't going to pass along this new international trailer for The Day the Earth Stood Still, but I think it's a slight improvement over what we've seen. I can't really put my finger on what's different, but I think the editing has a better pace, and maybe the mixture of scenes works better in this new one. Tough to say.

It's also tough to say what reaction audiences will have to this remake. I think people who know it's a remake and love the original will probably avoid it, at least on opening weekend. But people who have never seen the classic from 1951 - when there weren't too many alien movies around - will probably check it out in big numbers. And as always: Does Keanu Reeves help or hurt?

i *love* the original, but am excited about the new film if only for the fact it may work.

A lot of the bile against it hasn't been cos you've seen it.. just cos you don't like the premise of a good film being remade.

I say, why not have an actual critical opinion and wait til it lands.

I haven't seen the original one. i won't put an opinion on the movie before it actually comes out, but the trailer looked OK.
