'Twilight' Frenzy Heats Up 'Nightline'

I was flipping through the channels last night and stumbled on this Nightline report about Twilight. You heard me: ABC's Nightline, a show created many years ago to provide nightly updates on the hostage crisis in Iran, was covering the phenomenon of Twilight.

I don't want to be a jinx, but this is the same network that covered the "phenomenon" of Snakes on a Plane during World News Tonight a couple years ago. However, when you watch this video and you see the kind of Beatlemaniacal response the film's cast is getting in shopping malls around the country, it's not hard to do the math.

Robert Pattinson is interviewed, as is author Stephenie Meyer.

Twilight will be in theaters on Friday, November 21st, and so will I. I'm either a genius or a lunatic to have bought a ticket to a midnight screening, eschewing the much more placid press screening in favor of seeing this with its fan base.
