New 'Watchmen' Trailer Debuting Thursday

We've just heard that there will be a new Watchmen trailer released online this Thursday (today, depending on where you're reading this) at around 5pm Pacific. Yahoo! Movies will have the world premiere of the new view, so you can either check it out there, or will have it here at The Big Picture shortly thereafter.

It may not be the most-anticipated film of 2009 - that's a tough race to call, actually - but it is the first anticipated movie of the year, at least by blockbuster standards. We'll finally get to see one of the greatest, most inventive works of comic book literature presented on screen, even though original author Alan Moore can't bear the thought of it.

Can it possibly compare? Or can Zack Snyder's version be even better than the book because it's in a much better visual medium? Tomorrow's trailer won't answer those questions, but so far, so good. I don't think anyone would've thought five years ago that a Watchmen movie would even happen, let alone look this good.
