Brand New Trailer for 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'
Friday, November 14, 2008 at 2:17PM
Up until about two months ago, we'd all be gearing up
for the new Harry Potter movie right now. It was originally scheduled to
be released next Friday, November 21st, but after Warner Bros. noticed its
extreme good fortune this past July 18th, they decided that they'd made enough
money this year and would move this guaranteed smash to the same weekend next
year.
Perhaps there's more to it than that, but that's roughly
the scenario. So, just because the studio pushed this back about eight months,
don't think it's because they're worried that the movie they've got is bad and
they need to fix it. This is not one of those cases.

Here's a brand new trailer for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is probably more revealing than it is impressive. I think we see evidence here of how well they've handled slowly turning things darker and more disquieting in the past couple of films, but there's not one giant visual effects shot that will wow you.

Is that a little comedy by Daniel Radcliffe? Don't know if I would've stuck the jokes in the trailer, but OK. Look for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in theaters July 19th

must wait to long....
Looks good though. As good as the others.
This might be my favorite book from the series for the same reasons why Empire is the best Star Wars flick. Adversity makes for great drama. Great drama makes for great movies.
Can't wait.
Looks great, can't wait till next yr......ugh
Maybe Warner Bros. moved Harry Potter to make sure there would be lots of IMAX theaters available for the re-release of Dark Knight in January? That's my theory!
I don't really undertsand the move to let David Yates direct the last few instalments of the Potter saga.
I am by no means a Potterhead but I did enjoy a couple of the films, most so the Goblet of Fire, directed by the accomplished Mike Newell.
The Order of the Phoenix, while expensive, felt unnessesarily dour and had few moments that stuck in my mind. Its director, Yates, has rather weak credentials, mainly directing TV before Potter.
Still, it's their money and they can do what they want with it. Not being a fan I don't look forward to the new releases and I don't think I'll enjoy them if I eventually should watch them.
What if they are delaying The Half Blood Prince because it's rubbish and they have to ppolish the turd some more in post production? Distinctly poss.
