Eastwood to Head to the 'Hereafter' for Spielberg

Now this is something I can get behind.
Clint
Eastwood is in talks to direct a supernatural thriller called
Hereafter, written by
Peter Morgan (The Queen, The Last
King of Scotland,
Frost/Nixon).
Variety says details of the plot are all very
hush-hush, though it is believed we're in Sixth Sense territory on this
one. It will mark another bold directorial move for Eastwood, who could be 80
years old when the movie gets made because of his other projects. The
director-actor-composer is in the Oscar field for two films this year, with
Changeling currently in theaters and
Gran Torino opening in December.

And at this point, I'd watch anything with Peter Morgan's name on it. Those three scripts are all tremendous, and while they don't at all predict the genre-rific name tag of "supernatural thriller," I don't expect it to be awful, especially since it was a project Steven Spielberg desperately wanted to rip away from Paramount in the recent DreamWorks divorce specifically so he could get Eastwood to direct it.
I'd love to know a little bit about the story so we could try to make some guesses about casting, but with this kind of talent behind the camera, it should be no trouble finding big names in front of it.
