Our First Glimpse at the 'Watchmen' Video Game

OK...so the movie's one thing, but a video game based on Watchmen?

It's definitely happening, and according to io9, we'll see Watchmen: The End is Nigh in March 2009, courtesy of Deadline Games. It's said that the game will feature Rorshach and The Comedian beating up punks. If there's good news it's that the images you see here are reportedly the in-game models.

That's little comfort for the purists, I realize, but at least it's a game with good visuals that you're morally opposed to. It could be worse. Oh, this may soften the blow for the acolytes, though: It's not strictly speaking the graphic novel come to life in a video game. It's a prequel, set in the early 1970s, like that Life on Mars show or something.

The game will be available on PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. You can see more photos at io9 or Tiscali Games.
