'Wolverine' Trailer to Hit December 12th
Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 5:32PM
A little birdie over at Fox just e-mailed me
to say that the first official trailer for
X-Men Origins: Wolverine will debut in
theaters, accompanying The Day
The Earth Stood Still beginning December 12th. For added emphasis, I
was told it wouldn't be anywhere else, which means the studio is trying to
eliminate losing the wow factor with a tidal wave of online premieres for the
same trailer days beforehand. That worked quite well for Star Trek, so I can't
see why this should be any different.

Considering we've already seen Wolverine three
times, I think there's an enormous amount of anticipation for this movie, the
first in a series of X-Men origin stories (although only this film and Magneto
have been officially announced). We get to take Logan (Hugh Jackman) all the way
back to the beginning, and the film co-stars
Ryan Reynolds - who will get his
own Deadpool spin-off -
Liev Schreiber,
Dominic Monaghan, and
Danny Huston.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine kicks off the summer
2009 season on May 1st.
