Trailer - Ethan Hawke in 'What Doesn't Kill You'

If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend the
Sidney Lumet film Before the Devil Knows You're Dead. The script is
sensational, the performances by Philip Seymour Hoffman,
Ethan Hawke,
and Marisa Tomei are damned impressive, and Lumet directs like he's back in the
1970s. It was one of the best films of 2007.

Hawke has another gritty movie on the way, this time of
the South Boston variety. It's called
What Doesn't
Kill You - a title I really like for something like this - and
it's the semi-autobiographical film by writer-director
Brian Goodman
in which Hawke and
Mark Ruffalo play two lifelong friends who turn
to crime to make ends meet, but ultimately, their new lives threaten to tear
their real lives apart.
