First Character Bio Released at 'Watchmen' Website

Slowly but surely, we're getting new information and cool distractions from Watchmen, which will be in theaters on March 6th, pending the outcome of current litigation filed by Fox that could hold up the release date (but probably won't).

Over at the official website, Watchmen has been counting down to that date, but outside of a few production photos you can get just about anywhere else, there hasn't been much movement there.

Now we get the first of six character bios and wallpapers. Say hello to The Comedian, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Says the bio:

"One of the most active vigilantes in the Watchmen universe, Edward Blake operated as The Comedian for decades, in addition to working for the U.S. government in Vietnam and elsewhere. Originally a jester-themed hero, he later took on a more milatristic outfit, in keeping with his violent solutions to most problems."

You can read a little more over at the Watchmen site, and we'll update you whenever we need to. Like tomorrow, for example, when we should get the next video journal from one of the most anticipated films of 2009.
