Michael Bay Updates 'Transformers' Trailer

There are only three possible explanations for this: 1) I have the power to read Michael Bay's mind (stop laughing), 2) Michael Bay reads this website and steals our good ideas, 3) It was such a no-brainer idea that coming up with the solution is something one of the girls from The Hills could've come up with.

I'm talking about the new trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I've been consistent on this, saying that if you're going to debut the trailer early in 2009, you might as well do it in the Oscars (February 22nd) or in The Super Bowl (February 1st). And in a new update at Bay's personal site, the director reveals his intentions:

"First there will be a teaser poster soon after the new year, and the teaser trailer will be out either in the theaters early Feb. or on the Superbowl. Cannot decide yet. I'm going to release some set stills on this site in a few weeks. I'll keep you informed."

You're right; it's probably the third option. That really is a no-brainer. Still, it's good to hear that we're just about two months away from the trailer, with more things coming between now and then. I can't imagine Paramount getting all excited to release a trailer and a bunch of images in the early- to mid-January dead zone, besides which, the studio will be fully supporting Benjamin Button for Golden Globe and Oscar runs at that time.

But yeah, a poster in a four to six weeks sounds about right, with that trailer to debut in early February.

You are giving the girls from The Hills too much credit.
