'Wolf Man' Officially Delayed Until November 2009

For the second time in less than a month, it's being reported that the release The Wolf Man has been pushed further back in 2009. I'd be a little more worried about the film if it actually didn't make sense to move a monster movie from April 3rd to the fall.

Maybe there are actual problems with the production, although the Comic Con trailer was slick as hell and actually looked better than I thought it would, but my hunch is that the movie is just a better fit for fall than it is for spring. Now, why Universal has chosen November 6th, as reported by Worst Previews, and not sometime prior to Halloween is beyond me. But they're at least closer to the target.

The Wolf Man stars Benicio Del Toro as Lawrence Talbot, an actor who comes home for a funeral and is bitten by a wolf, which starts all sorts of crazy behavior once the moon rises. Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving and Emily Blunt co-star.

Will the release date change plague the film, as it normally does, or did they make the right move here?

It does seem a better fit later in the year situated near Halloween. Haven't a good many horror flicks been slated for late summer and Fall releases, or does it just seem that way?
