First Clip from David Goyer's 'The Unborn'

Here's the deal: I'm only sharing this clip with you
because the cast is really good. OK, I like two of the people in the cast, and
there are a couple more names involved that you might know. Oh...and it's
written and directed by
David S. Goyer.
The Unborn stars
Gary Oldman
and Carla
Gugino. And for me, that's compelling enough evidence. Throw in the
saucy but mostly untalented
Meagan Good, Cloverfield hottie
Odette
Yustman, and TwiGuy
Cam Gigandet and this thing has a certain
potential. What's the drawback? Well, there are two.

The first is that it looks like every other goddamn horror movie out these days. I don't mean the plot looks the same, just that the color palette for a lot of horror movies over the past few years has been white and pale blue shrouded in lots of heavy black. Enough. I've seen The Ring.
The second red flag is the film's release date: January 9th. That's not exactly Memorial Day weekend, is it? I'll hope for the best, because of Goyer, Oldman, and Gugino, but January 9th is also compelling evidence.
Here's the clip...and I have no idea what in the hell is going on in it.
The synopsis says, "A young woman fights the spirit that is slowly taking possession of her," so I guess we're to take it that li'l Damien there has something to do with all that.

Am I wrong in assuming a reference to the last part of The Exorcist, where Regan's face flashes to Satan moments before Father Karras becomes the host, as seen in the final seconds of this clip? Apparently, seeing his unholiness has some serious side effects. The kid's eyes are super close to the same as Father Karras eyes when he became possessed. It seems that there are strong influences on this film by "The Exorcist".
By the way, I like how the child looks down and closes his eyes before hurling the gurney across the room with his power. Such a nice subtle touch, showing that brief moment of concentration needed to do such a thing. Just a small observation. I hope this film is loaded with such opportunities.
