Frank Miller Inching Closer to 'Buck Rogers'

This subject has come up a couple times before in the past year or so, and it appears likely that it will finally come together. Comic book legend turned film writer and director Frank Miller will once again clasp hands with Odd Lot Entertainment to make a big screen version of Buck Rogers.

Worst Previews reports that Miller will write a new version of the comic serial, and we should expect "a darker take, with many of Miller's signature visual elements and themes, such as corruption and redemption." What? Really? Is Jessica Alba wearing chaps again? That'd be a nice bonus.

What's strange about the report is that there's talk that this will be his next film and not Sin City 2. That would contradict everything we've heard out of Miller and others involved with the project. I think once The Spirit comes out and doesn't do Sin City or 300 business, the pull will be on Miller to do the Sin City sequel first rather than take on a new project.

I'd be interested to see his sketches, though; Frank Miller doing futuristic sci-fi could be cool. But I'd still rather another writer work on the dialogue.
