Gugino Becomes 'Elektra'

Earlier this week, we told you that Carla Gugino will play an adult entertainer in a new trilogy of films called Women in Trouble, Elektra Luxx, and Women in Ecstasy. She plays Elektra Luxx in the films written and directed by her boyfriend, Sebastian Gutierrez. The most unusual thing about all of this is, given Gugino's raised profile over the past couple of years, which could hit its zenith when Watchmen is released, news of her porn star turn received no attention until this week. The first film in the series is currently filming, and even though there's no distributor attached to the project yet, which means there's no guarantee of any money at this point, Gutierrez has assembled a strong cast for the sequel (Emmanuelle Chriqui and Marley Shelton are other women in Trouble). Something tells me it won't take long before a small arthouse distributor picks up the first film for some kind of release. And if these pictures of Gugino as Electra Luxx is any indication, it should have happened already.
