Friday, December 19, 2008 at 1:52AM Studio Head Wants Third Batman Film "To Get It Right"
You know why we always say those
outlandish
Batman rumors are garbage before we even wait for the denials?
Because unlike most other movie properties in Hollywood, the
Christopher
Nolan Batman series can do whatever the hell it wants. Two films in,
with no complaints so far, and Nolan will be afforded every luxury by Warner
Bros. and DC Comics to make sure he's making the movie he wants to make.
And that's exactly what Warner chief Alan Horn told
Collider
on the red carpet this week, at the premiere of Yes Man. "The story is
everything and we are very respectful of Chris," Horn said. "We have a wonderful
relationship with him and we are going to be respectful of his timing and we
want to get it right."

Again, a studio is very rarely in the position Warner Bros. is with The Dark Knight: Critics adored it, audiences made it arguably as big a film as it could possibly be in the post-DVD world, with its three- or four-month turnaround time for home video. Horn and Nolan can wait for the right moment. They can nurture a script. Cast the movie over time. Chart out new technological advances they may want to exploit. Pour over the long history of the character to find not just a villain with immediate name recognition but one that fits the current Batman model. Making this sequel is not as easy as picking a guy to play The Riddler.
"Also, I think the fans expect that," insisted Horn. "They want us to make a terrific movie – we have to give them another great movie.” In short: Don't expect any of the names you've been hearing, don't expect an announcement anytime in the immediate future, and don't expect this movie to come out in two years. It'll be three years at the earliest.

Dark Knight was crap. and you F**( heads know that.
Iron Man ruled.
Joe....that says something about your taste in movies doesn't it? Go back to watching disaster movie you douche.
Who in their right mind would love Iron Man but hate The Dark Knight. dude, I don't think he's the type of guy to watch disaster movie, Iron Man was great. But he needs to get his priorities straight, The Dark Knight should be winning best picture at the Oscars this year - yet at this point who knows if it'll even get nominated. It greatly outweighs Iron Man in terms of cinematic quality. I tell people; it's great for a movie, let alone a superhero movie.
