Monday, December 22, 2008 at 6:14AM
I'm always a little surprised when I look back at the
weekend and discover just how much stuff there was to talk about. On our end, we
kicked off our end-of-the-year recaps, which will continue through Thursday. But
beyond that and the normal box office news, we still had some more headlines you
should be made aware of.And thus, this.
Spirit director Frank Miller making a Buck Rogers movie
The next Jack Ryan movie's a prequel. OK, but who should play him?
Remake # 1: James Cameron orbiting Forbidden Planet?
Remake # 2: The Shadow. Really? Next, you'll probably tell me they're remaking Judge Dredd...
Remake # 3: Judge Dredd
The Big Picture interview with Death Race director Paul W.S. Anderson
...And our way too thorough lists of the best of the year:
The Top Ten Films of 2008
The Ten Worst Films of 2008
The Top Ten Performances of 2008
But wait...there's more. Here are a few stories we didn't get to. Thankfully, the internet is a big, big place:
SAG strike talks won't break for the holidays (Variety)
Our first look at Bruce Willis in The Surrogates (Newsarama)
Near Dark remake now totally dark (Dark Horizons)
Peter Weir and Colin Farrell join forces in Bulgaria (International.Ibox)
To Kill a Mockingbird director dies at 83 (Chicago Tribune)
