Win 'An American Carol' on DVD
Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 12:53AM
When it was released in theaters this fall, the political comedy
An American Carol was a fairly controversial film for a number of reasons. The satire, out today on DVD, is from Airplane! director
David Zucker and features
Kelsey Grammer,
Leslie Nielsen,
Dennis Hopper, country star
Trace Adkins,
Bill O'Reilly, and Chris Farley's brother
Kevin as a Michael Moore inspired filmmaker/doofus.
Why the controversy? It lampooned "the left," which we're told is never done in Hollywood, and upon its release there was talk that "the left" tried to keep the movie suppressed. Not wanting to be painted as part of "the left" or "the right," we're offering you a chance to win An American Carol on DVD.
As always, we ask some ridiculously easy movie trivia for our DVD contests. Your answer puts you in the running to win. Here we go:
If you were asked how you take your coffee in Airplane, how would you answer?
E-mail your answer (along with a mailing address) and we'll pick winners at random this weekend. So, take a shot and submit your guess before Friday, January 2nd at 10pm Pacific. An American Carol is available on DVD and Blu-Ray December 30th.

That's funny! One of my favorite movie quotes of all time. I still use that line today, all the time. Save the DVD for someone who would actually get use out of it though.
Colin:
Think you're being politically incorrect...? Or perhaps "Black, like my men," has become politically correct, with Obama as our president elect.
Colin's not "being" anything. And he's not even the one who revealed the funny part. Think what you will of the comedic merits of the quote, but it's just a line from a movie.

Because this movie was a flop, I decided to pick a quote from a movie a bunch of people had seen. Forgive me for not asking anyone to come up with another Kevin Farley credit...
Why, Colin, I'm shocked. You just revealed your true colors -- you're not the fair-minded, neither-right-nor-left, nice guy you've "painted" yourself to be.
What does that mean? For starters, I've never painted myself as a nice guy, so let's make that abundantly clear. Nor do I think I'm being politically incorrect for referencing a 30-year-old movie quote, just as calling a movie that made less than half of its budget a flop doesn't indicate a political leaning. The only thing that reveals is math.
Perhaps you should ask yourself why this totally biased liberal didn't just turn down the contest giving away copies of the right-wing movie instead of offering people who might want to see it a chance to get it for free.
