Sigourney Weaver Talks 'Ghostbusters 3'

We know there will be a Ghostbusters 3; Office co-writers Gene Stupnisky and Lee Eisenberg have already been hired to hammer out the screenplay. But what will it be? There's reason to believe the film will focus on a new generation of 'Busters, and based on their level of levels of promotion and/or leadership on the project, there's a good chance that original stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis will also return in some capacity, even if they aren't the stars.

But what about the other important Ghostbusters cast members? Don't count on Rick Moranis showing up, since he hasn't been on screen in over a decade and didn't even lend his voice to the Ghostbusters game. Ernie Hudson hasn't really been discussed, but I hope he makes a return if the others do. And Sigourney Weaver? She sounds totally up for it.

“I’ve heard about it,” she told MTV. “I’m supposed to get in touch with Bill next week.” Positing potential plot points (that's alliteration...fancy), Weaver wondered, “Does [Murray] think we got married or something?”

“I would hope that my little Oscar would be one of the Ghostbusters even if I’m not in it,” the actress added, referring to her infant son in Ghostbusters II. If Oscar did make the cut, he'd be in his early-20s by the time the movie is released in 2010, not that they couldn't fudge the age and get away with it.

Still, I think Weaver has actually solved two dilemmas at once: She's figured out how to go young and she's figured out a natural way to have the old Ghostbusters on screen, too. Well done.

Thats bad ass.... you're the real Oscar? I had always thought that Oscar may have had some sort of leftover curse in him from when Dana was a dog ...hey? I'd like to know how these writers got hooked up with this sweet deal... I hope they handle with care!
