Ah, the dubious "anonymous source," how we wish you
could identify yourself. It would be so much easier to know whether or not we
should believe you if you gave us your name, rank, and serial number.

Take, for instance, this concept art for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Is it real? I have no idea. The autobots/decepticons blog Transformers Live claims it received the image from someone calling him or herself Sylar, claiming that it's a depiction of Ravage and the all new 2009 GM Megatron. In a message board comment, Sylar says that he or she doesn't work for the production or for anyone in the merchandising of the film, but "kinda came across it and quickly stole it and scanned it...I photoshopped the background out simply because I didn't want someone from Paramount or something to recognize exactly where this image came from."
That sounds plausible enough, but because there's no background or watermark or trademark, it could be just an elaborate doodle. We just don't know.

We'll know if it's real when we start to see the Transformers trailers, which I expect will be launched during the Super Bowl if not sooner.
