Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 10:40PM Two 'Monsters vs. Aliens' Featurettes
I think I've already mentioned how intriguing the first
half of 2009 is just in terms of the slate of animated films. We've got
Coraline, Up, and
Monsters vs. Aliens all between February
and June (and Ice Age 3 on July 1st), and what I like about this trio of
movies is the variety.

They're all their own kind of movie, but I think there's a huge crossover audience between them, which speaks not only to the level of the storytelling, but also the filmmaking; as you probably know, each one of these films will employ some format of 3-D.
Monsters vs. Aliens, to me, looks like it could be the best DreamWorks animated picture yet. It's certainly geared for adults with the hope that kids like it, and that has not always been the way DreamWorks has carried it out. We found two behind-the-scenes features about the new film, one on YouTube, and one through Entertainment Tonight.
The first one features directors Rob Letterman and Conrad Vernon, and the second, from ET, has footage of the voice actors - Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Colbert, and Kiefer Sutherland - as well as Rainn Wilson, who plays the otherworldly villain in the film.
Monsters vs. Aliens will be in theaters on March 27th.
