Midnight Best Buy Launch for 'Dark Knight' DVD

If you just can't wait for The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray or DVD, get in line. Literally.

Best Buy locations will have a midnight launch for what will surely be the biggest DVD of all time on Tuesday morning. If the math of midnight perplexes you, that's going from Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Some Circuit City and Blockbuster stores will also have the midnight sale, proving that both Circuit City and Blockbuster are still in business. And select Virgin Megastores will follow suit, because why not, really? I'd advise checking with your preferred local retailer to see if they're staying open through the midnight sale or if they're closing, re-opening, and then closing again.

The move is certainly not unprecedented, since retailers do this sort of thing pretty often for video game releases, but usually movies on DVD aren't that big a deal. I'm trying to remember the last one that had a midnight sale, and I think the Lord of the Rings movies or the awful second Star Wars trilogy got the same treatment.

This rules. I don't know if I'll be going at midnight to get this, but I'll surely own it by Tuesday afternoon.

I am glad that my Best Buy isn't doing a midnight opening. That would suck!
