Ruffalo and Hawke in 'What Doesn't Kill You' Poster

It has already been an up-and-down month for Mark Ruffalo, and he's certainly focusing on the down. Ruffalo's brother, Scott, was shot in the head on December 1st and remains in very serious condition in a Los Angeles hospital. Police are focusing on Brian Scofield and Shaha Mishaal Adham as persons of interest in the case. Though it clearly pales in comparison to that news, Ruffalo's new film, the unfortunately titled What Doesn't Kill You, has garnered him a Best Actor nomination from the Satellite Awards, and his supporting role in The Brothers Bloom also was singled out by the group for a second nomination. Bloom has been pushed back to a January release date, while What Doesn't Kill You actually opens in very, very limited release this Friday.
