'Slumdog' Wins Again in Washington, D.C.

Barring a late season slump, Slumdog Millionaire is emerging as the film to beat among critics' groups and journalists, with the Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association voting it Best Film and Danny Boyle Best Director. The honor comes just days after the National Board of Review selected the Fox Searchlight release as its best movie of 2008.

Slumdog won four awards from the D.C. critics, including Dev Patel's breakthrough performance and Simon Beaufoy's adapted screenplay. Here's the complete rundown:
