Friday, February 1, 2008 at 9:00AM Movie Trailer - The Slacker Indie Comedy 'Backseat'
Ordinarilly, yes, I'd have misgivings about a "new" movie that was first shown for an audience nearly two-and-a-half years ago, but having seen the trailer for the indie road trip movie, Backseat, I'm singing a different tune.
It looks pretty damn funny, but not in an over-the-top kind of way. There are no big names and the hook is the storytelling and the comedy. I must admit, I'm looking forward to seeing it and hope this refreshing twist on an old genre makes its way to me so I can check it out for myself.
Backseat will be released, probably on a very small scale at first, in March.

I have been involved in some pretty big pictures, but I really proud of this one.

Thanks for dropping us a line. Loved the stuff on disc two of Zodiac. For anyone who hasn't seen the special features on the director's cut of that movie, it's one of the most informative extras I've seen in a while.
And to Digital Domain's credit, I couldn't even tell what was real and what wasn't watching the film.
And speaking of Digitial Domain and credit...did you guys do the titles for Fincher's Panic Room?
Right now we are working on a period piece with Fincher that comes out in December, with his favorite pal/actor...Brad Pitt. It's a tear-jerker, but strangely involves an incredible amount of animation that we hope you will not notice.
As much as our guys like projects like Transformers, I am sure they get more of a thrill out of the films that are heavily reliant on VFX though the audience is unaware.
By the way, you'll be happy to know that Josh turned down our offer to add heavy CG pyro-technics to the post work in Backseat. :)
