Mr. T Brings Kid Out of Coma, Naturally

Behold: The recuperative powers of Mr. T!

T, born Lawrence Tureaud, recently shared a magical moment in his life that all the gold chains in the nearest pawn shop couldn't buy. The A-Team star claims to have brought a boy out of a coma...with his sheer awesomeness.

Back in the mid-1980s, when Mr. T's powers were at their peak, a kid in Detroit fell into a coma and the only physical movement he had made was in response to hearing Mr. T's name. One can't imagine exactly what was said that sparked the response in the comatose patient, but it was probably something like, "Mr. T would know how to kick this coma. He'd just scare it off!"

Says T of his introduction to the case, "His family put toys around him and one of them was a Mr. T doll. And whenever my name came up, the boy moved his arm."

"Somebody told the doctors I was in town, so they called me down there. I closed the curtains and prayed. Then, as I was walking down the hall, the kid suddenly came out of the coma and hollered out."
